About

Edwards Funeral Home in Strawn was founded in 1963 by Jerry and Pat Edwards. The location of the funeral home was originally the George J. Watson home, built in 1919 from plans drawn from a plantation home in West Virginia. The building has double brick walls, imported Italian granite railings and seven coal-burning fireplaces. The Edwards family has continued to serve families in the area for over 47 years. Jerry and Pat Edwards purchased Edwards Funeral Home in Ranger in 1977 from J. Floyd Killingsworth. Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland started out as Barrow Furniture & Undertaking Co. in 1919. In 1929 Ben Hamner bought the business from Mr. Barrow.
